The purpose of Thai massage is to bring the body, mind, and spirit into a state of balance and harmony, providing an opportunity for deep self-healing. The practitioner always begins the session with a blessing, a moment of centering and connection, asking for assistance from the lineage of teacher (God, The founder Dr. Jivaka, Buddha, or her own personal teacher). During the Massage, you lie on a soft, padded cushion fully clothed with natural cotton clothes provided. Your body is placed into yoga postures while simultaneously using combinations of rhythmic stretching, compression, rocking, and shifting. Your body will gently go places it could not during a yoga class or solitary stretching. Like Yoga, it uses the breath to access deeper layers of your body & mind for healing & toning. Working with 10 main energy lines & the primary acupressure points on these lines makes it possible to treat a whole range of imbalances resulting from disturbances in the flow of Prana(energy).
