Currumbin Valley is a residential rural community located in the Gold Coast. Currumbin Valley’s first industries in the 1840s were grazing and timber getting. A few decades after, dairy farms, sugar crops and banana plantations were established in the area, which resulted in a larger population. In 1908, the area had a lot of children, which prompted the establishment of the Currumbin Upper provisional school. The most notable families back then were the Nicolls and the Freemans who are now commemorated by the Arthur Freeman Lookout and the Nicoll Scrub National Park.
