Peregian Beach is a small seaside community in the local government area of Shire of Noosa in Queensland. The town used to be within the Sunshine Coast Region between 2008 and 2013. The term 'Peregian’ from the suburb’s name is an Aboriginal term that is equivalent to emu. Peregian Beach was a training site for artillery combat during the World War II.
Among the different commercial facilities and amenities in the area include a village-themed shopping district, a surf club, bowls club, skate park, hotel, medical centre and restaurants. The Peregian Originals and the Peregian Markets are some of the popular local events that take place every month.
