Shaw is a suburb located within the local government area of the City of Townsville in North Queensland. The City of Townsville is one of the must-see destinations in Queensland because of its mix of rainforests, reefs, beaches and islands. A prime example is the Hinchinbrook Island, which contains a range of National Parks and tropical wetlands. It is also the home of the Wallaman Falls, the country’s highest waterfall with a permanent single drop. The falls are located in the Girringun National Park, which is part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. It contains some of the world’s oldest rainforests. Those who like fishing will enjoy the estuarine waterways around the island, which are teeming with many species of fish.
