Bohle Plains is situated in Northern Townsville, Queensland. The suburban community is roughly 1,116 kilometres away from the capital city of Brisbane. Its name was derived from Henry Mackinnon Bohle, who brought cattle to the town during the 1860s. Bohle Plains is geographically bounded by several landscapes and seascapes, such as Tuggerah Bay, Wollamai Point and Corrimal Beach, among others.
