A town in the Mackay Region of Queensland, Sarina is located 34 kilometres from the city of Mackay to the south, 932 kilometers north of Brisbane, around 300 kilometres north of the city of Rockampton, and inland of the coast along Bruce Highway. Sugarcane growing and milling has been part of the town’s industry and history, and a big cane toad statue stands in the town centre in honour of this. Other industries in Sarina include agriculture, cattle grazing, and supplying of ethanol. Tourism also plays a significant role in the town’s industry due to its proximity to mountains and coastal areas.
