Dumbleton is a town located within the local government area of the Mackay Region located in North Queensland, Queensland. The region was established in 2008 after the merger of the City of Mackay, Shire of Sarina and Shire of Mirani. Dumbleton is near several popular tourist destinations in the region. The Armstrong Beach, which is a drive away from the small town, is popular because of its fishing and prawning. Meanwhile, the Ball Bay, a beach settlement located 35 kilometres from Mackay offers peaceful camping spots. Mackay is also famous as the home of the Broken River Mountain Resort, an eco-tourism company located in the Eungella National Park about 85 kilometres west of Mackay and home to a large platypus habitat.
