A small town under the local government area of South Burnett Region in Queensland, Hivesville is located 11 kilometres east of Proston, 30 kilometres northwest of Wondai, 52 kilometres north of Kingaroy and 277 kilometres northwest of the state capital of Brisbane. Hivesville is bisected by the Wondai-Proston Road, with the main township situated along its intersection with Silverleaf Road. The town was named after the Hives Family, who owned a significant property around the area of the township in the 1890s. Today, Hivesville remains mainly a residential settlement with a number of community facilities including a convenience store, a community post office, a convenience store and a petrol station. Its pub, however, has been attracting some attention after it was refurbished; so does the cafe across the road named Road Kill Cafe, which arouses interest for a hilarious photo op.
