Angourie is a small coastal village under the local government area of the Clarence Valley Council of New South Wales. The area is known for it’s gorgeous beaches and thriving surf culture. Angourie is also famed for it’s vibrant forests. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the region is the Angourie Rainforest Resort.
Angourie Beach was declared a National Surfing Reserve in 2007. It is the second site in Australia to be recognised with such a prestigious title.
Behind the village proper of Angourie is the Yuraygir National Park, part of which it shares with the town Wooloweyah. Another attraction in the coastal community is the Angourie Blue and Green Pools, originally a rock quarry that was filled with water after a freshwater spring was disturbed.
