Yattalunga is a small suburban town located in the local government area of the City of Gosford in the state of New South Wales. The town’s name was taken from an Aboriginal word that means “watering place.” Yattalunga is within the Yattalunga - Saratoga – Davistown district, where the earliest recorded settlement took place in the mid-1820s. The main sources of livelihood during that time were cattle raising, citrus production, ship construction and shell collection. Today, Yattalunga is generally a residential community. The suburb is near different tourist landmarks and recreational facilities. Tourists may visit leisure sites such as the Mount Pleasant Lookout, the Illoura Reserve, the Davistown Tidal Pool, the Pine Avenue Playground, the Buyuma Park, the Jirrumba Reserve and the Lintern Street Playground.
