Jensen is a suburban town located in the local government area of the City of Townsville in the state of Queensland. On July 27, 1991, the Governor in Council named and bounded the suburb, while the Minister for Natural Resources and Minister for Mines modified the boundaries on February 28, 2003. A council merger led to Jensen’s re-gazettal on November 21, 2008 by Minister for Natural Resources and Water in compliance with the Local Government Reform Implementation Act 2007. Among the public infrastructure and recreational facilities in Jensen include the St. Anthonys Catholic Primary School and the Townsville Woodlands Holiday Park. Local businesses and services in the suburb that help improve the local economy and employment are building contractors, beauty salons, motor and boat canopies, cabinet makers and child care centres.
