Grasstree Beach is a town situated on Selma Bay in Queensland. The coastal township, which is 30 kilometres south of Mackay, is protected by a group of islands. Originally a part of Cliftonville Station, Grasstree Beach was once the location of a successful gold mine. Currently, Grasstree Beach is a very popular holiday destination because of its wonderful climate and beautiful beaches. The tourists frequent its beaches, which are known to be safe and long. Fishermen also find Grasstree Beach enjoyable because the creeks have flathead, whiting and bream. Quaint places like the Grasstree Beach Bed and Breakfast are abundant. Sarina, which is 13 kilometres away from the town, is also a hub of activity, featuring excellent views of the mountains and several markets.
