Tucked within the Central Queensland area, Eungella is a beautiful township that offers access to nearby national parks where tourists can revel in the beauty of nature. The town contains what is considered to be the longest continual stretch of sub-tropical rainforest in the country. The dense rainforest that surrounds Eungella has been providing students and educators with access to a number of platypuses. Since 1941, the national park has been known to contain over 800 different plant species. Birdwatchers can explore the rainforest to see more than 100 types of birds that were recorded to thrive in the area.
The Fern Flat campground is the area where camping is allowed. The camping area can only be accessed by foot. Day visitors can experience the beauty of nature while having a picnic near the Broken River. There are also over 20 kilometres of bushwalking tracks and lookouts found within the confines of Eungella.
