Bowen is a small town on the Whitsunday Coast on the shores of Edgecumbe Bay located north east of Queensland.
Situated half way between Townsville and Mackay it sits approximately 1,230 km’s from the state capital Brisbane and is bypassed by the Bruce Highway.

The 10 metre high “Big Mango” on the fringes of town marks the site of the Bowen Information Centre for visitors and is symbolic of the Kensington Pride or Bowen Mango grown in the region and popular with Australians due to its sweet fibre-free consistency.
Renowned for 8 award-winning beaches, the most recognised and well known of these is Horseshoe Bay, which is protected by two granite outcrops that provide a haven for many fish species and is ideal for snorkelling.
The front foreshore in town was recently redeveloped with fun family activities in mind with some of the best fringing reefs of the Queensland Coast lying just a few metres offshore, the area attracts divers keen to explore the colourful coral gardens.
