About Coffs Coast Nutrition
Coffs Coast Nutrition was established some years ago and has become the region's most trusted nutrition, health and fitness service. Our team consists of university qualified Nutritionists, Dietitians, and Health Coaches. We also have Personal Trainers as well as the only AlterG anti-gravity rehabilitation equipment between Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast.
Our focus is on providing realistic nutrition, exercise and lifestyle advice in a supportive, caring and non-judgmental environment. We have no association with any large corporations, companies or government organisations and can guarantee that you will receive information that is evidence-based and unbiased.
Our Dietitians are registered with Medicare and all major private health funds. You do not need a referral in order to see us, unless you would like to claim under Medicare, Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) or Workcover.
Our Dietitians are generally available to see clients Monday to Friday. We also have some Saturday and after hours appointments.
Our receptionist works part-time Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, so if you ring you may get our answering machine. Please leave a message and our receptionist will return your call. Alternatively you can contact us via our website www.coffscoastnutrition.com.au
Our Dietitians are qualified to provide specialized meal plans and in-depth nutrition advice to people with medical conditions. This sets us apart from people who have only completed personal training courses and/or a nutrition course. The Scope of Practice for personal trainers limits them to the provision of basic nutrition advice in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines. They should therefore, not be providing in-depth nutrition advice.
In addition to our nutrition and wellness services, we have a private air conditioned studio gym. Our personal trainers specialize in one-on-one personal training and couple’s training (bring a partner or co-worker or friend or child). We can arrange a time that suits you, seven days per week.
Our personal training sessions are designed to cater to different abilities and fitness levels. We focus on providing a fun, time-efficient workout without fear of being intimidated or judged. You have the option of either using our gym or participating in outdoor exercise sessions.
Coffs Coast Nutrition is now the proud owner of an AlterG anti-gravity treadmill. This is a revolutionary medical rehabilitation treadmill, which is NOT in any way similar to a typical treadmill. The AlterG uses differential air pressure technology developed by NASA to enable the user to walk or run pain-free at anywhere between 20-100% of their body weight. This is something that no other exercise or rehabilitation equipment can do. For more information visit www.coffscoastnutrition.com.au and www.alterg.com.au
Our personal trainers have clinical AlterG certification regarding orthopaedic, weight loss, neurologic, geriatric and bionic leg populations, in addition to Cert 111 and 1V in Fitness.
The AlterG can help with recovery from injury or surgery, as well as improve cardiovascular fitness and sporting performance, with significantly reduced risk of injury.
The AlterG is specifically designed for people who suffer from arthritis, lower back pain, foot and ankle pain, shin pain, thigh pain, hip and pelvic pain. It can play an important role in speeding the recovery from surgery (eg knee and hip replacement), and can also benefit people with neurological conditions such as stroke or Parkinson’s due to providing neuromuscular and proprioreceptive re-training.
