In 1899, the Father of Comboyne, Thomas Jones, chose land on Comboyne that would be the location of the first village. However, the site was not developed.
With the decline in timber, timber mills started to close. Today, Comboyne’s main industries are cut flower farms, blueberries, kiwifruit and avocadoes. Beef cattle grazing and dairy are also major industries until today.
