Uralba is a small suburban town located in the local government area of the Ballina Shire Council in the state of New South Wales. Historical records show that the first signs of settlement activity took place in Uralba in the mid-1800s. Much of the land during that time was used primarily for agriculture and timber-getting. Today, the suburb has become part of the Rural Hinterland South district, which has several major features and landmarks such as the Tuckean Nature Reserve, Davis Scrub Nature Reserve, Victoria Park Nature Reserve, Meerschaum Vale Hall, Rous Mill Hall and the Uralba Nature Reserve. Local businesses and services near the rural community also include septic tank manufacturing and installation services, art schools, retail florists and wholesale nurseries.
