About Coraki

Coraki is a small suburban town located in the local government area of the Richmond Valley Council in the state of New South Wales. The suburb’s name is derived from the term Bundjalung Gurigay, which means “the meeting of the waters.” William Yabsley founded the suburb in 1849 and since then, it has become a centre for agriculture industries such as cattle raising, tea tree oil and sugarcane production. There are several different types of facilities and establishments in Coraki, including the Coraki Fire Station, the Rural Transaction Centre, St Joseph's Church, Coraki Uniting Church, Coraki Community Hall, Mid-Richmond Museum, St. Joseph's Public School, Coraki Anglican Church and the Coraki Library. Local businesses and services such as a bakery, hotel, café and pharmacy are also present in the suburb.
