Eungai Rail is one of the two localities that make up the town of Eungai, located within the local government area of the Nambucca Shire in the Mid North Coast Region of New South Wales. The town is midway between Sydney and Brisbane and is located on the North Coast railway line. Known for its Old World charm, the Eungai Rail has a general store that features an end plate from a Furphy water cart. The water cart was the invention of John Furphy, and was made between 1878 and 1880. Eungai Rail is near Mount Yarrahapinni, a mountain with a peak that is 495 metres. The short drive to it features views of the Nambucca and Macleay Valleys combining and flowing into the Pacific Ocean.
