Glen Martin is a rural community located within the local government area of the Dungog shire in the Hunter region of New South Wales. It is thought that the name Glen Martin comes from an estate during the early settlements of the area. There was once a public school, post office and community hall in the town of Glen Martin, none of which still stand today. Glen Martin is situated in a predominantly rugged and hilly country. It is also near some national parks, state forests and mountain vistas that feature spectacular views. Other recreational facilities in Glen Martin include bowling clubs, golf courses, tennis courts and swimming pools. The oldest known operating cinema in Australia is also located near the community.
