The Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre is run by the Mountain's Historical Society and features a small historic village, offering a snapshot of the life of early settlers. Visitors can see the first church to be erected on the mountain. Called the Pioneer Hall it has been relocated within the centre's grounds. This service is suitable for groups of up to 12 people, with the option to drive yourself and explore the river using the map supplied, or for groups of up to 14 with a qualified operator. The sides of the boat are completely enclosed so it is perfectly safe to bring children along, with full shade cover on deck. The boat is equipped with toilets, gas barbeque and barbequing tools, tables and seating, CD player and radio, swim ladder, fresh water sink, ice chest eskies, wheelchair access as well as marine radio and full safety equipment. All self drive tours come with instructions on vessel operation with no licence required, though drivers must be over 18 years of age.
