Hello Rainbow is a multi disciplinary service offering speech and occupational therapy in an early intervention environment for children. Hello Rainbow offers a mobile service, enabling therapy in your home. Most children are comfortable and receptive in their home environment. This often means that they’re in a great frame of mind to bond with our therapists and engage in meaningful play and communication. We are a neuro-affirming practice. This means that we strongly believe that all children view and communicate with the world around them differently. These differences are not deficits, or something that needs to be fixed. Your child is a unique and wonderful little person. Our passionate therapists work with your child’s strengths, interests and abilities to build their confidence and help them reach their goals. We believe that a holistic approach to early intervention brings the best outcomes. We work collaboratively with early childhood specialists, both in house and externally. Stepping Stones Therapy for Children offers a comprehensive assessment and treatment service for babies, toddlers and children. Depending on your child's specific needs, therapy may be delivered in our clinic, at your home, at preschool/school, and/or in groups. Treatment programs will be tailored to meet your child's individual needs. We also provide information/training sessions for parents and educators on a range of topics including sensory skills for the classroom, foundation skills for handwriting, and strategies for enhancing child development. We are authorised providers for NDIS, Medicare and most private health funds. Our Toronto clinic is located conveniently within the Toronto Private Hospital complex. You can find us on the second floor of the private suites, right next to the main hospital. There is a carpark just in front of our building that is available to our clients.

About Stepping Stones Is your child having difficulties with participating fully in their life? Are they less independent than you would like? Stepping Stones can help. We offer a wide range of occupational therapy services to assist you in helping your child to develop the skills and confidence they need to flourish. We see children from birth to 18 years and can offer a comprehensive assessment and individualised interventions to meet the needs of your child. We are available to see children in our clinics, their own homes, at school or in the community. Occupational Therapists (OT’s) are registered health professionals who help people overcome challenges in their everyday occupations. You might wonder what occupations your child has, and the answer to that is many! The primary occupation of childhood is play. Your child will spend many hours of the day engaged in different types of play activities, and during this time they are busy developing essential physical, sensory, social, emotional and cognitive (i.e., thinking) skills that lay the foundations for success in later life. Other childhood occupations include self-care tasks (e.g., feeding yourself, having a bath, washing your hair, getting dressed, doing up buttons and shoelaces etc.) and activities of productivity (e.g. kindy/school activities, handwriting, using scissors, doing chores etc.). Stepping Stones OT’s are trained to assess your child’s performance in these areas in order to determine the specific barriers to their success. Using this information we can then design a treatment program to meet your child’s individual needs. We then work with you in order to help your understanding and to give you practical tools and advice that you can use at home.

Rex has been an Occupational Therapist since 1994, being the second year to graduate from Occupational Therapy at the University of Newcastle. Rex is committed to the care and advocacy of his patients, many of whom have been known to him for over 20 years. He engages other treating professionals in the care of his patients whenever possible. His practice is based on the belief that independent living and meaningful occupation should be optimised to achieve and maintain the best possible quality of life for everyone.
