The Malpass Hotel, in the centre of Home Hill, provides four-star backpacker accommodation in four-share rooms at affordable rates. As the Burdekin is one of the most productive farming areas in Australia, there is an abundance of seasonal work available from fruit and vegetable picking, packing in sheds, general farm work, and bar work. Transport to and from jobs is available for guests at the Malpass Hotel. All rooms are air-conditioned and have a fridge provided. Linen is also provided, and cooking facilities are available, along with an ATM and EFTPOS.

Ask for a large scoop of chips and it comes out not much more than a cup of chips. Then ordered $10 chips and had another pathetic amount, quality of the food is good but it wouldn't kill them to be a little more generous!!!!
