The East Maitland Academy of Dance is run by János Szabó, a member of the Hungarian National Ballet who took over the school, which was establishedin 1947, in 2009. The aims of the school are to create an optimal learning environment in order to enable the students to achieve the highest level they are capable of in the genre they wish to pursue. Classical Ballet training provides the technical support base form which all the other genres of dance benefit. Students are guided by highly skilled professionals in Classical (R.A.D), Vaganova, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.

We provide a space where young dancers can be educated and supported for their individuality within structured yet freely creative environment. NCD support the student as the whole person, understanding their dreams and assisting them to create a reality through hard work, respect and resilience. We do this by engaging with the most knowledgeable, artistic and support team of staff and guest teachers as well as via our community of family all working together to make NCD the safe, successful and creative environment for all dancers.

Dance classes especially for primary school dancers 5 - 12 years of age.

Dancers come to The Dance Gallery because we're different from �regular' dance studios. We understand that you as a high school kid need an afternoon out with friends. Come along, join in for a dance class or two with your BFFs, then head over the Gloria Jeans for a coffee before heading home. The Dance Gallery is all about you. We are Newcastle and the Hunter's ONLY dance studio dedicated to high school age dancers and young pre-professionals. If you're aged between 12 and 20 years of age and want to dance just for fun, fitness and friends or want to take classes that will guide you through exams and performance, The Dance Gallery has a class for you.
