“I wish I could live in this beautiful place with its gorgeous interior and exterior; and impeccably clean. The beds were very comfortable, we didn't want to get up each day! Lindsay house is so incredibly cosy yet classy and the lovely Pam looked after me and my family, we didn't want to leaVe. She was attentive and so lovely. I look forward to visiting again. Also, Olive the resident sausage dog is an excellent added feature, cute and cuddly.”

“As soon as we arrive we felt very much like we were home, very clean rooms and tasteful furniture. The owners are lovely - Rod & Vicki, nothing was too much trouble and he grounds were very well looked after and it was back off the road very quite. We were tired from travelling and made sure we selected a motel with a restaurant.”

Armidale Poppy's Cottage, set on 140 acres, is only 10 minutes from the heart of historic Armidale. Enjoy cosy and warm accommodation in the "Settlers' Cottage" adjoining the turn of the century homestead. The Cottage is set in about 2 acres of established, leafy, English style garden, interspersed with old-fashioned perennials and roses. With 2 bedrooms and ensuite, the cottage is totally private. Guests have the option of a delicious three-course dinner by candlelight, with complementary bottle of wine. “I was amazed at how spotlessly clean this place was. Negligible noise from the highway. The best modern heater in a room I have found in a motel in years, it really did the trick. The freezer of the refrigerator was ice free. Easily overlooked because the signage needs freshening up. I would stay here again. A big thank you to the elderly owner who waited up for our arrival. Not many would do that. A "confirmed" booking in Armidale via Wotif was non-existent and the owners of the motel in Armidale contacted the owner of the Altona Motel to find a room for us when every room between a Glen Innes and Armidale was booked out. Good Save!”
