The Village has been designed to collect, preserve, restore, interpret and exhibit artefacts that relate to the history, heritage and culture of the regional area. The Museum, Heritage Village and coffee shop are open Friday, Saturday and Sundays 10 am - 4 pm and other times by appointment.

A bustling hub south-west of Tamworth, Werris Creek was specifically chosen by the NSW Government in 1877 to be a gateway for railway travel and trade across the region. Werris Creek thrived on the steam era from the 1870s to the 1960s, and even today retains many artefacts from that time. The Railway Journeys Museum actively conserves and exhibits railway memorabilia from electric staff instruments to miniature trains in an interactive manner for visitors to experience. Pilliga Pottery Creative Farmstay is a family-owned business. Maria Rickert, the founder, manages the business with her family partners Johannes, Regina and Bernhard. They are assisted by Julie the former in-house governess and most gifted artist as well as several loyal team members who assist in running the shop and the café.

During the day, you can stroll around our beautiful park and enjoy the view, while at night you can make use of our BBQ sites and hang out with friends and family. If you are bringing along your pet, let our management know so we can arrange our van and tent sites to be pet-friendly. Our administration is also available should you need anything on our tent sites, or anywhere else in the caravan park.
