For over thirty years, Urunga Community Preschool has provided an Early Childhood education for the children of Urunga and surrounds. Located in the heart of Urunga in a beautiful parkland setting, Urunga Community Preschool provides an open and supportive place for children and families to experience Early Childhood education. Urunga Community Preschool is guided by the Early Years' Learning Framework; encouraging active learning and the full participation of each child regardless of ability or background. We are a Registered Child Care Provider. We strive to continually do our best in service provision and as a result our Preschool has been rated �Exceeding National Quality Standard� when assessed by NSW Education & Communities. Our architect designed building is a practical well-organised space, providing an aesthetically pleasing environment for children to learn and play. Urunga Community Preschool's central location provides ready access for regular visits to the school, the library, the park and the fire station. Our proximity to the shopping centre is also very convenient for parents. Exploration of the natural environment is encouraged at Urunga Community Preschool, and plays a major part in our program. Our beautiful shady playground provides children with the opportunity to explore, discover, to be challenged and to have fun. We have a huge sand pit, a rocky wall with water access, a vegie garden and lots of friendly visitors such as our tawny frog mouths, cicadas, blue tongue lizards and water dragon. Urunga Community Preschool is a not-for-profit community organisation funded by the Department of Education. A Committee consisting of parents of our children provide management and meaningful input into the running of our Preschool. Our fees are set as low as possible in order to make access affordable whilst maintaining a quality educational service. At all times Urunga Community Preschool endeavours to provide a welcoming, happy and safe environment for children and their families.

Toormina Community Preschool was established in 1976 by a group of dedicated families who wanted to create a nurturing, educational environment for local preschoolers. ​ The Preschool has grown significantly in its 45 year history, and to meet the needs of its growing population, has undertaken several renovations. We recently enhanced our indoor play space by extending the building to add another room. This room has provided opportunities for educators to work in smaller groups with children and to also increase our parent support programs.Our natural outdoor environment has also grown with us and we now have many established trees and gardens to create natural shade and play spaces. The children love to explore in the variety of outdoor areas which are continuously being enhanced. Currently it consists of a large sandpit, decking, river bed, worm farm, vegetable and bush tucker gardens and large climbing area. ​ We are proud to acknowledge the committed staff, committee members and families who have supported the Preschool over the years. During our 45 years of operation we have seen five dedicated Director’s, who have lead teams of educators in creating an environment of learning and fun. As a testament to our success we now welcome new generations of families who are returning with their children and grandchildren. ​ The Preschool continues to grow as we implement current practices and trends so that the children and families of Toormina/Sawtell and the surrounding suburbs receive the standard of high quality education and care they deserve.
