Emotionally Focused Therapy is an experiential therapy designed to repair old wounds, build new ways of expressing our emotional responses evoked by another's actions and emotional displays. Sometimes this can be as result of our family of origin, or childhood trauma from other sources, that tripper emotional responses trying to protect us, but can be maladaptive in the current relationship.
