Koala Conservation Australia Inc, trading as The Koala Hospital, is a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility that specialises in caring for orphaned and injured koalas. Our aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and release koalas back to their home range if possible. The Koala Hospital is also a scientific research and education centre and a popular tourist attraction. The Koala Hospital is situated in the grounds of the Macquarie Nature Reserve in Lord Street, Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia. We have a 24 hour rescue line so if you see an injured or distressed koala please call us on 6584 1522. Between 200 and 250 koalas are admitted through the Hospital every year. While the tour is in progress other volunteers within the yards are feeding the koalas. All of this is easily visible by the visitor and most of the outside exhibition yards are wheelchair accessible.
