The Pentland Hotel is a small country pub with friendly staff offering cold drinks, meals, rooms, free pool tables and free caravan parking / camping on site. Pentland is on the Overlander's Way, which connects Townsville to Tennant Creek. It's about 2.5 hours west of Townsville or 1.5 hours east of Hughenden. We have air conditioned motel rooms available and offer free unpowered sites. Meals are available Wednesday - Saturday. Popular meals include fish & chips, chicken kiev, beef burger and the pub favourite - crumbed steak.

It is a favourite place for inspiration for photographers and artists. White Cliffs Underground Motel provides accommodation and catering for singles to large families or groups and conferences. International visitors frequent the area and the motel. ​Enjoy lunch or a cup of coffee while you browse through the gallery and shop. We stock a range of individually made artworks, including some Aboriginal works and artefacts that are second to none. You may be lucky and find there is a film night on, or you can take a tour of the town with one of the local guides. There are a number of galleries and shops, a heritage trail, and areas to fossick for opal. Meet the locals, take a walk, and begin to understand the magic of the outback, and the lure of the opal.

Situated just 2kms (bitumen access) off the Flinder's Highway between Julia Creek and Richmond, our budget farm stay is a great way to spend a few days relaxing or as a quick stop over on the long trip between Mt Isa and Townsville. Guests can stay in the self contained studio accommodation or choose to camp among the large trees or on open grassed areas. Meals can be provided as part of a 'home stay' arrangement and drinks, food and emergency supplies are available from our small store. Sun downers are a feature of the tourist season which runs from April to October. Over this time we have twice weekly BBQ and games nights and Sunday Roasts are legendary. Our little bit of the outback is an artists and birdwatchers paradise. With an an art gallery on site, we are home to the famous 3.5 metre Brolga sculptures and art activities for family fun can be arranged. Other points of interest are the local CWA hall, our 104 year old post Office and an artesian bore originally sunk to service steam trains passing through to Darwin. We are part of a circle route connecting Richmond to Julia creek via the Punchbowl waterhole. We are also located just 15 kms South of a Flinders River crossing and 5 min's to small creeks. Optional birdwatching and redclaw fishing experiences can be arranged. Children love taking part in the the dawn or dusk feeding of our farm animals and are thrilled to meet Sebastian goat who is our friendly mascot. He is very welcoming and seems to enjoy turning up for photos. The open night skies at Corella Creek offer an opportunity to star gaze or spot the different species of owls and other nocturnal animals that live within the grounds and close by.
