A small seaside community under the local government area of Whitsunday Region on the northern side of the Whitsunday Coast in Queensland, Hideaway Bay is situated 44.5 kilometres north of Proserpine, 85.5 kilometres east of Bowen, 54 kilometres northwest of Airlie Beach and 1,137 kilometres northwest of the state capital of Brisbane. Along with its sister town of Dingo Beach, Hideaway Bay is visited by sun worshippers and travellers who are more into secluded seaside spots that provide a relaxing beach atmosphere next to crystal-clear waters. The community is also within close proximity to the eco-friendly establishments dotting Cape Gloucester that have recently caught the radar of Queensland’s beach-goers. Accommodations and other facilities are available at the Hydeaway Bay Caravan and Camping Park. For those who want to sail eastward to the Whitsunday Islands for snorkelling and big game fishing, the neighbouring village of Dingo Beach has a public boat ramp that is open for visitors.
