Innisfail is a suburban town located in the local government area of the Cassowary Coast Region in the state of Queensland. The suburb was originally named Geraldton until it was changed to its current one in 1910. Innisfail is recognised for its sugar and banana industries. It is also well-known for retaining several Art Deco and Streamline Moderne styles of architecture within its environment. The presence of some heritage-listed sites in the suburb help drive growth for the local tourism industry. These sites include the Innisfail Courthouse, See Poy House, Canecutters Memorial, Johnstone Shire Hall and the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Memorial Church. Apart from tourism, certain events and festivals that celebrate the town’s cultural diversity help draw tourists to Innisfail. Some of these celebrations are the Kulture Karnival, Festival Innisfail, Feast of the Senses and the Feast of the Three Saints.
