Bingil Bay is situated in the northern part of Cairns in the Cassowary Coast Region of Queensland. The suburban community is roughly 1,285 kilometres away from the capital city of Sydney, Australia. Its name was derived from an Aboriginal term that means “a good camping ground.”
Bingil Bay, which was then called as Clump Point, is geographically bounded by several landscapes and seascapes, such as Ninney Point, Clump Mountain and Fernby Gap, among others. Bingil Bay has a number of adjacent tourist spots as well. Some of these are Flying Fish Point Caravan Park, which offers air-conditioned cabins and villas as well as outdoor facilities, and Herbert River Museum, which is located in Halifax and displays a collection of artefacts like watercolour drawings of Aboriginal objects.
The vicinity of Bingil Bay is mainly connected by the Murrigal train station and the Cairns International Airport. Town visitors who wish to spend time in the area may choose from various nearby hotels, like Sanctuary Retreat and Eco Village Mission Beach, to name a few.
