Aloomba is a small rural community located only 30 km south of Cairns. The Aloomba community is at the heart of the sugarcane industry for the region.
Only a short drive from Aloomba is the larger commercial centre of Gordonvale, home many tourist attraction and popular amenities. A prominent natural feature of the region is Walshs Pyramid which rises 922m above sea level. There are loads of sightseeing opportunities including the Mulgrave Central sugar mill, the Mulgrave Settlers Museum and State Forest. The Gillies Range is east of Aloomba and leads into the Atherton Tablelands region.
