Wulguru boasts stunning panoramic views of the nearby Magnetic Island as well as the rest of Townsville, Queensland. This suburb culled its name from the Aboriginal language where “Wulguru” translates to “windy valley.” A huge percentage of the area is owned by the Australian Army. Their land is fenced off to avoid local residents from trespassing. The main shopping centre of the suburb is The Edison Street Plaza, where mini marts, stores and a bakery can be found right next to the Wulguru State School. Wulguru also provides easy access to nearby centres like the Fairfield Waters and the Annandale Central.
