Pomona is a suburban town located in the local government area of the Noosa Shire in the state of Queensland. The suburb used to be known as Pinbarren Siding until it was changed to its current name in 1906. The town’s name is in reference to the Roman goddess of fruitful abundance. There are several heritage-listed sites in the suburb that draw local and foreign tourists. These sites include the Majestic Theatre, the Pomona Police residence and former station, lock-up and courthouse, the Noosa Museum and the former Cooroora Masonic Temple. Aside from the annual King of the Mountain race event, other tourist attractions in the suburb are the different timber and art deco structures that provide streets with a relaxed ambiance.
