Named after the beautiful and famous Glass House Mountains, the hinterland town belongs to the Sunshine Coast Regional Council. Also commonly known as “Glasshouse,” the area was once a popular farming region that was known for their local pineapple and sugarcane. The popular sport Soccer was known to be brought in through the town by the original settlers from Europe. Mount Tibrogargan, Mount Ngungun and Mount Beerwah can be seen over the distance if you’re in the Glasshouse town. One may visit the Glass House Mountains National Park to experience the splendour of nature. The park features guided walks and tours and offer maps for tourists who want to do their own exploring.
