Townview is a small rural area located in Queensland, in the local government area of Mount Isa. It is a relatively quiet town that is 7.8 kilometres away from the Mount Isa Airport. The nearest train station is a bit further with the Rifle Creek station being 21 kilometres away. Mount Isa attracts a number of tourists all-year round because of its historical sites, but the population swells to about triple its size during the Mount Isa Rodeo and Mardi Gras. Held on the same weekend, both events usually cause an outpouring of people seeking accommodations in nearby towns. Several motels are near Townview, with Spinifex Motel, Cooper City Motel and Central Point Motel all being a kilometre or less away.
