A small country town in Pioneer Valley under the local government area of Mackay Region in Queensland, Pinnacle is situated 54.6.6 kilometres west of Mackay, 56.1 kilometres southwest of Mount Ossa, 18.7 kilometres east of Netherdale, 15.1 kilometres north of Septimus and 1,016 kilometres northwest of the state capital of Brisbane. Visitors to the picturesque town typically head to the Teemburra Creek Dam, which was constructed in 1997 to address the increasing demand for water storage and facilitate irrigation in the sugarcane farms of the area. The dam is also a popular destination for game fishing, where avid fishers can catch barramundi and sooty grunter. No camping is allowed within the vicinity of the dam, but accommodations are available at Finch Hatton Gorge, Kinchant Dam and Eungella National Park. Fishing in the Teemburra Dam also requires a Stocked Impoundment Permit. The historic Pinnacle Pub and Hotel, the town’s watering hole, also serves meals and the famous Pinnacle Pub Pie.
