Located in Queensland, the small town of Hay Point is 40 kilometres to the south of Mackay. It is located on the southern end of Dalrymple Bay. Hay Point has two bulk coal terminals, Hay Point Services Coal Terminal and the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal. The two coal terminals once exported 77 million tonnes of coal in 2003 to 2004, earning it the distinction of being one of the biggest coal ports in the whole world.
