Eimeo is situated on the Central Coast of Mackay and Whitsundays in Queensland. The suburban town is about 816 kilometres away from the capital city of Brisbane. It was named in the 1870s by J. D. Armitage, a pastoralist. Barrow Hill, Lamberts Beach and Mount Oscar are some of the different geographical features that are found around the area of Eimeo. The district of Eimeo has a number of nearby tourist attractions as well. Some of these include Sea Fever Sportsfishing Whitsundays, which allows its customers to fish in the Great Barrier Reef, and Sarina Sugar Shed, which features Australia’s miniature sugar mill and distillery. The town of Eimeo also houses a heritage-listed site called Mango Avenue, which lies between Whittles Lane and Heidke Street. The transportation services of Eimeo are mainly connected by the Maraju train station and also via the Mackay Airport.
