Wonglepong is a suburban town located in the local government area of the Scenic Rim Region in the state of Queensland. The suburb’s name was derived from the name of a historic railway station built in 1927, which was originally called by the name of Sarah Vale. Wonglepong is also believed to have stemmed from an Aboriginal word that either means “forgotten sound” or in reference to a part of Mount Tamborine. There also used to be a Canungra rail line station in the suburb that was functional between 1915 and 1955.
