Luscombe is a small suburban town located in the local government area of the Gold Coast City in the state of Queensland. The rural area’s name was taken from a sugar plantation that was adjacent to the river. The town is situated on an elevated land area with numerous small streams running off of it. Among the facilities in the town include two quarries.
Historical data shows that settlement occurred in the suburb and in surrounding regions beginning in the 1860s. The main sources of livelihood during that time were sugar plantations and agriculture. Luscombe is part of the Ormeau – Yatala district, where tourists may visit landmarks and attractions such as the Stanmore Motocross Park, Brien Harris Oval, Bob Sinden Memorial Complex and the EcoPark Fishing World.
