Gaven, located north of Nerang, is a rural suburb in Queensland’s Gold Coast City. The area is named after a well-known local family. Pacific Pines, a suburb, was part of Gaven until 2004. Stockland acquired a large area near Gaven in 1990 and a 5,800-lot estate was developed. The area was called Pacific Pines and half of the area was sold from 1993 to 2003. The estimated population for the area at the time was 15,000.
When the population in the area increased, several schools were established including Gaven Primary School and the Jubilee Private Primary School. A shopping centre was also opened to serve the community. Attractions near Gaven include Wet’n’Wild Water World and the Warner Bros. Movie World located in Oxenford.
