Gordonbrook is a town within the local government area of the South Burnett Regional Council in the South Burnett region of Queensland. The South Burnett Regional Council was created when the shires of Kingaroy, Murgon, Wondai and Nanango merged in 2008. Gordonbrook was formerly within the Shire of Kingiroy, about 100 kilometres from Brisbane. The Gordoonbrook dam, a reservoir that has a maximum depth of 3 metres, is the only source of water for Kingaroy. The dam was built back in 1941 to supply water for the Royal Australian Air Force Training base during the Second World War. The dam features a fairly large picnic area on its shores. It also features a composting toilet, a water tank, a boat ramp, picnic tables and a bush walk.
