Located in the south western part of Queensland, the suburb of Booie is about 153 kilometres away from the capital city of Brisbane. Its name came from a Waka term, which literally means “carpet snake.” Some of the geographical features that surround Booie are Goat Mountain, The Breezer and Mount Monsildale, to name a few. Booie has neighbouring tourist spots as well, including Redrock on Booie, which is a local ranch that is found along Millers Road, and Booie Bello Vista, which offers its visitors spectacular views from the Booie Ridge pinnacle onto the Sunshine Coast. The town of Booie is primarily linked by two major transportation services: the Hornley train station and the Oakey Airport. Tourists who wish to stay in town may choose from various hotels, like Hillview Cottages, Kingaroy Country Motel and Pepper Tree Cabins Kingaroy.
