A small town on the Capricorn Coast under the local government area of Shire of Livingstone, Emu Park is situated 21 kilometres south of Yeppoon, 45 kilometres northeast of Rockhampton and 681 kilometres northwest of Brisbane. One of Queensland’s popular tourist destinations, Emu Park has bagged several tourism awards and is sought after for its unspoilt beaches, and activities such as fishing, boating and surfing. It also houses the famous Singing Ship Monument, a memorial for British Explorer Captain James Cook, who discovered the area in 1770. The town also has a number of parks and other attractions such as the Emu Park Golf Club, Bell Park Caravan Park, Bicentennial Park and Lions Park.
