Bororen is a small suburban town located in the local government area of the Gladstone Regional Council in the state of Queensland. The town has a number of historical buildings. On June 2, 1898, the Bororen Post Office opened in the area. A receiving unit has been open since around October 1897. The Bororen Provisional School opened its doors on January 22, 1900. By 1909, it was named a State School. A war memorial site was built along the Bruce Highway in Bororen around 1995 as a way to honour military service members who were involved in World War I and World War II. There are several different types of businesses and services near Bororen. Some of these include motels, holidays and resorts, retail furniture and restaurants.
