Qumba is a suburb set between Bargara and Kalkie in Bundaberg. The area was formerly connected with Woongarra Scrub and the cane growers in the area were the ones responsible for supplying goods to the Mon Repos’ juice mill. In the late 1800s, the Mon Repos juice mill was so successful that the Millaquin mill located nearby was alarmed and bought out the business together with the Queensland National Bank or QNB. The new mill was then named after QNB, Qunaba. Several other juice mills in Qunaba were established, but most of them did not flourish.
