A suburb situated within the Bundaberg Region in Queensland, Avenell Heights is 360 kilometres north-northwest of the state capital of Brisbane and 290 kilometres southeast of Rockhampton. It is connected by road to the surrounding suburbs of Kepnock, Bundaberg South and Walkervale, and is just a 10-minute drive away from Bundaberg central business district. Aside from the Bundaberg Racecourse, Avenell Heights is home to the Boreham Park and playground. The park underwent a major refurbishment and now offers ziplines, swings, bike trails, basketball hoops, football goals and climbing equipment.
